Property description
In the heart of Aghia Marina you will find the popular Hotel Karyatides, which is a privately owned, family run hotel, offering the very best personal attention and friendly relaxing atmosphere which make holiday makers come back year after year.
The hotel consists of 30 bedrooms, renovated in 2003, TV lounge (36'), garden café-bar, breakfast room and reception desk. All rooms have private facilities with Air-Conditioning, Colour Television, Safety-Box, Hairdryer, Refrigerator and totally new bathrooms. Ironing Equipment is available on request.
From its commanding position close to the organised beach, the majority of the bedrooms have a marvellous Ocean View or Mountain View. As all of the rooms have a balcony, you can either sit there and enjoy your breakfast or go to the yard to the nice café-bar, where you can design your breakfast after your personal taste. If you feel like shopping, the hotel itself is situated in the village centre, where you can find everything you need. The island's longest beach is just a stone's throw away and around the corner you will find numerous restaurants with excellent cuisine and anything else you can expect to find in a highly developed tourist resort.
Aegina is the nearest island to Athens and famous historical sites and monuments, such as the Acropolis, Delphi, Corinth Canal, are within easy reach. Hotel Karyatides is situated only 200 m. away from Aghia Marina's port and 20min.-30min. by taxi/bus/car from Aegina's port, where daily transportation to and from Piraeus (the port of Athens) takes place from. In Aegina you might as well visit the ancient historical Temple of Aphaia which is only 2 km. away from Aghia Marina.

TRANSPORTATION
Aegina is situated in the Saronic Gulf, 17 nautical miles south west of Piraeus. The island is easily accessible by either ferryboats or hydrofoils. You can also reach Aghia Marina direct from Piraeus Port during July and August in 50 min. by Catamaran Boat named "HYDRA CAT". Moreover several ferries go to Aegina Town, as well as Flying Dolphin hydrofoils and a Fast Catamaran service. Timetables are displayed on the various Ticket Offices on the quay.
HOW TO GET TO US FROM THE AIRPORT
Shuttle bus: Leaving the arrivals hall, you will find bus X96 (24 hours service), which takes you straight to the Port of Piraeus. The bus stop several times on the way and the Piraeus harbor is the last stop. The price of the ticket is €3.20 and is valid for 24 hours. You may use this ticket on the bus/trolley/metro. The trip will take about 50-60 minutes depending on the traffic!
Taxi: You can also take a taxi from the airport to Piraeus port. When leaving the airport, please make use of the taxi queue next to Door 3 of the Arrivals Level. Taking a taxi is mostly quicker than the bus and the price will be about €25-€30.
Rent a car: Renting a car in Aegina is a must if you want to tour the countryside and exploring several attractions in the island! Car hire gives you the freedom to explore this amazing area at your own pace. Hire a car with us as soon as you are in the island and our hotel!
You may also rent a car at the airport and drive to the Piraeus port. To rent a car at the airport is a good option if you also plan to visit the Peloponnesus after or before you visit Aegina. There is a good boat connection between Methana (on the Peloponnese) and Aegina.
TO AEGINA TOWN
There are several ferries to Aegina from Piraeus port like the “Hellenic Seaways”, “Nova” and “Aghios Nektarios” Ferry Boats. There are also Hydrofoils like “Hellenic Seaways” and “Vassilopoulos” and a fast Catamaran service. They are generally operated from 6:00 until approximately 20:30. If you are flying overnight, and are arriving in the very early morning at Athens, you can find shops, bars and restaurants open 24 hours in the airport where you can obtain refreshments before leaving for Piraeus port and Aegina. Prices of tickets vary depending on the ferry you take from 4 – 11 EURO per person. You can find the exact timetables at the Ticket Offices at the quay.

HOW TO REACH US BY CAR/TAXI/BUS
Aghia Marina and Hotel Karyatides is only 12km. away from Aegina Town. You can always reach us from Aegina Town by bus (30m.) or car/taxi (20m). You can also reach Aghia Marina village direct from Piraeus Port (July-Aug) in 50 min. by Catamaran Boat named "HYDRA CAT". The Hydra Cat takes approx 50 min. and ticket prices are 5-6 EURO/person. If you sail direct to Aghia Marina, then you will find our accommodation within a 5 minute walk. Just take the street to your left and you will find our hotel at the top of the road.
