Les Quatre Pins is situated within walking distance of Grolejac, the village offers a tennis court, lake with beach, canoeing on the Dordogne, cycle hire is available, horse riding and a nine hole golf course are nearby. Grolejac has three Restaurants in which to enjoy delicious food and wines of the region. Many more Restaurants are within a short car journey.
Les Quatre Pins is ideally placed for visiting medieval Sarlat, with its excellent market or delve into prehistoric times and visit the famous cave paintings of Lascaux, or visit the spectacular caves at Les Eyzies. Nearby Domme is a captivating bastide town, with its old white stone houses with their brown tile roofs and flowery balconies, standing on a towering hill overlooking the peaceful meandering river Dordogne. Visit the spectacular medieval village of Rocamadour, clinging to the sheer cliff over a gorge on the river Alzou, with its seven churches a breathtaking place to visit. Within a short driving distance from Les Quatre Pins, the Dordogne valley village of La Roque-Gageac, with its honey-coloured houses huddled against the cliff and its pretty river frontage, the village is one of the most striking villages along the Dordogne. Further along the valley, visit the castle of Castelnaud, which houses the medieval war museum. The castle appears to rise up out of the medieval village, which is nestled on the slopes of the hill, also along the valley, Beynac, which is built in stages above the water’s edge, cliff topped by an impressive Fort. Along with its castles, churches, gardens, pretty villages, produce and craft markets and landscape as varied as the cultural heritage, the Dordogne region has something to please every visitor.
