Additional information
Warrnambool Heritage Cottage allows your mind to journey back through time, triggered by the old world ambience of the cottage and by browsing through the old newspapers and magazines provided. Examine the copies of the conveyance documents (the originals are hand written on wax paper) that trace the history of the block back to a crown grant in 1856, signed by the then Major General Mac Arthur. Stroll down to Thunderpoint and view Warrnambools' rugged coastline, or relax in the timber-lined sunroom, sipping an exotic pot-infused coffee. At the end of the day soak in the cast iron bath with a luxurious bath oil, as the setting sun filters through the leadlight window above you.
When you're hungry you can choose to cater for yourself, complimenting your meal with herbs and vegetables from the cottage garden; enjoy a barbecue in the cottages' private courtyard, or take advantage of Warrnambool and Port Fairys' fine restaurants.
If you prefer a more vigorous pace then Warrnambool Heritage Cottage is still the place for you. Use it as a base from which to explore the Grampian ranges and the magnificent views along the shipwreck coastline; have a game of golf at the nearby eighteen hole course; swim at Warrnambools' main beach or surf at The Flume. Discover the wildlife and magnificent flora at Tower Hill and the Ralph Illidge Sanctuary, or examine the shipwreck treasures at Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum .
