Architecturally and historically distinctive, this sacred space has been beautifully restored and offers some of the finest examples of hand-carved Adamesque gouge-work in the city.
Featured every year on the Preservations Society' s Candlelight Tour of Homes, Phoebe Pember House is rated as a Category One property, the highest Charleston gives.
It is the birthplace of Phoebe Pember, writer, maverick spirit, Civil War heroine, author of A Southern Woman's Story, and contributor to Harpers Magazine.
