MonteMateo is an estate of 1 Hectare approx. situated in the Natural Reserve of La Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche to the north of Huelva. The property is next to Galaroza, one of the most beautiful villages in the area. Galaroza is 3 km away and Navahermosa (a tiny hamlet) is only 1km.
The estate is situated in a sloping, sleepy valley protected from the winds and more importantly, south facing. The house, which sleeps six, is surrounded by a huge garden that comprises olive groves, cork trees, a pear orchard and various bathing pools.
The two storey cottage which sleeps 8 is completely new and fully furnished. It comprises a dining/drawing room with fireplace, TV and stereo, a fully-fitted kitchen/breakfast room, two double bedrooms and one room with four single beds, with linen, two bathrooms (including towels), a 60 m2 veranda and a terrace.
The house has been built according to the traditional rustic style of the region using materials of the best quality - solid wooden beams, solid chestnut window frames, terracotta floor tiles and double glazing for efficient insulation.
The covered veranda is east facing - making the best of the morning sun and stunning view. The veranda terrace is beautifully paved using a typical local method found only in the sierra. The spacious terrace is south-facing and has a barbecue and a pergola which can support a vine to provide a cooling Mediterranean shade.
The nearest village for shopping and supplies is 3 km away and the main town is only 12 km away. Seville airport can be easily reached and is only 100 km from the house, Jerez airport is 180 km or alternatively Malaga airport is 300 km. The nearest Portuguese airport is Faro and this is 150 km.
The house is connected to the mains electricity and water supply. The new Swimming pool is 6x4 Mts. with filter system.
The maintenance of the Garden and swimming pool is provided by the owner.

In Winter the climate is mild but sometimes wet with cold nights and in the Summer it is hot and dry in the daytime and cool at night. The abundant vegetation and surrounding hills make it much cooler in the Summer than in other areas of Andalusia.
