Seven Mile Beach – a long, largely deserted stretch of sand protected from development by a national park – is only 10 minutes away and is best in the morning before the wind gets up. Swim AYOR, but it is fine for walks all day. There are patrolled beaches at Werri, Gerroa and Shoalhaven Heads. Good windsurfing spots can be found at Gerroa (in the surf) and on the estuary at Shoalhaven Heads. Further afield, the beaches and national parks of Jervis Bay are only 30 minutes south.
The walk to Drawing Room Rocks on the Barren Ground Nature Reserve is a must during your stay. Drawing Room Rocks is a spectacular rock formation atop the cliffs and overlooking the coast from Gerroa to Jervis Bay.
