| Property description: |
Built in 1919, the Wabi Sabi Cottage was completely & lovingly restored in 2004. We tried to change the exterior as little as possible but once you step inside no detail has been overlooked. We added central A/C, used reproduction lighting, outfitted the kitchen & bath with modern conveniences - while keeping the cottage charm. Vintage photos and a mix of antiques with new furnishings complete the décor. There is off-street parking with room for a boat trailer. It’s the perfect spot for a romantic get-away.We hope you will love the quiet, privacy and charm as much as we, our friends and our family do. |

Historic Cedar Key is a nature lover’s & artist's dream. You can while away the hours by fishing, bird-watching, boating, kayaking, sailing, hiking and biking. Cedar Key is one of the few remaining fishing villages left in Florida, with oysters, crabs and farm-raised clams still being harvested the old fashioned way.
Fishing for mullet, redfish, grouper and trout is easy in the rich waters. Nearby are outer islands with historic ruins to explore, as well as, Manatee Springs, Homasassa Springs and the Lower Suwanee Wildlife Refuge. We have numerous fine dining opportunities, as well as, fun shops, two museums and numerous art galleries. We have 3 festivals a year - in April (the Art's Festival), over the 4th of July (Clamerica - the Clam Festival) and the Seafood Festival in October. From Sept. 29-Oct.1, 2005 will be the 2nd Annual Nature Coast Birding and Wildlife Experience, which is limited to 250 participants.
You can rent kayaks, bikes, boats, fishing guides or golf carts to get around but don’t forget to bring a camera, that book you’ve been meaning to read and your fishing pole. You are in for a wonderful and relaxing time. Only 1 hour from Gainesville, 2 hours from Tampa and 3 from Orlando, Jacksonville or Tallahassee airport or fly into our on island airstrip.
Smoking in the garden area only, please.Pets must be pre-approved. |
