Property description
The Area
This part of Paris is known as 'Les Grands Boulevards'. The Grands Boulevards are long chains of avenues that join the Madeleine to the Opera to the gates of St. Denis and St. Martin, the last to the place de la Republique, and the Republique to the Bastille. They were laid out in the 17th century on the site of obsolete city walls and served as a centre of café and theatre life in the 18th and 19th centuries, reaching the height of fashion during the belle epoque.
On of the oldest music halls in Paris, Les Folies Bergere which has been around for 130 years, is just around the corner.
Even today, if you ask a Parisian, they will say that it is their 'Broadway' and they still love to stroll through the area to feel the pulse of the city.

Additional information
Location
This apartment is very central to many sites and shops. It's a 15 minute walk to Au Printemps and Galeries Lafayette, a 12 minute walk to Gare du Nord, Gare de l'Est, and Sacre Coeur, a 10 minute walk to Musee Grevin and Musee de la Vie Romantique, a 30 minute walk to Jardin des Tuileries, Place de la Concorde and the Champs Elysees.
You need not go to the Tuileries to see some greenery though as the street overlooks a quiet little park called Square Montholon.
If you prefer not to walk, there are 2 metro stations, Cadet and Poissoniere, a couple of minutes from the flat. The are also buses you can catch on rue Lafayette or a taxi rank, if you are in a hurry.
