Welcome to the Albemarle Inn, a magnificent Greek Revival mansion set on 3/4 of an acre of landscaped grounds with perennial gardens in the elegant Grove Park district of Asheville. The Inn is within walking distance of the Grove Park Inn and minutes by car to restaurants, galleries and the Biltmore Estate. From the moment you enter the main parlor you are surrounded by the glow of the recently restored oak paneled wainscoting and the warmth of the butterscotch tones of the walls, which rise to eleven-foot ceilings. Dominating the parlor is an intricately carved oak stairway with a unique circular landing and balcony accented by a period crystal chandelier. Enjoy morning coffee or tea and the newspaper by the huge Arts and Crafts style fireplace in one of the comfortable seating areas among antique furnishings and oriental rugs. The parlor also serves as a gathering place for refreshments in the late afternoon. Perhaps one of the guests will play the turn-of-the-century baby grand piano that Cathy inherited from her grandmother, a concert pianist.

The enormous double wooden doors at the center of the parlor lead you out to an expansive stone veranda flanked by four two-story Corinthian columns and then onto the sweeping front lawn and lovely perennial gardens. In warm weather the veranda is a favorite for quiet reading or a cool drink and conversation with other guests.

Perfect for a romantic getaway, relaxed vacation or a break from a busy business schedule, our ten spacious guestrooms and one suite offer comfort in an elegant style. Each room is decorated in a distinctive period manner. All contain queen or king-sized beds with extra thick mattresses, fine linens, goosedown quilts and pillows, fresh flowers and handmade chocolates. One features a private balcony overlooking the gardens. Each room has a private bath with claw-foot tub and shower, a computer compatible telephone and wireless internet, television and individually controlled heat. One of our rooms features a marble surrounded two person, jetted tub.
