We are one block from Bourbon Street and five blocks to the Mississippi River where you can catch a paddlewheeler to the world class zoo or tour the bayous and see a plantation. You can walk to the casino and to the Convention Center. Antique shopping is available on 2 blocks away on Royal Street The oldest cemetary is eight blocks from here and Jackson Square with the oldest operating Cathedral is six blocks away. Although you cannot walk to the swamps or the plantations,you can take a tour to see them. There are several historic homes in the French Quarter that are open to the public. We also offer a free tour of our home which was built in 1822. City Park and the Garden District are accessible by street car and there is a lovely museum in City Park nestled among the ancient oaks. Also at City Park there is a turn of the century carousel that is still in operation and tennis and golf at City Park too.
