Unique privatley owned gourmet bed and breakfast on the Normandy / Brittany border close to Mont Saint-Michel.
Large elegant 200 year old town house comprising of two guest drawing rooms dining room, & conservatory. Five individually refurbished bedrooms with special features. Choice of double, twin,& single rooms to choose from,for the sole purpose of the comfort and hospitallity of our guests. We provide a haven of peace and relaxation for the traveller.
Continetal breakfast is included in the room rate, or a full (English breakfast at a small supplement should you prefer). A five course gourmet dinner inclusive of apperitifs, canapes, & wine is available.
The property also features a beautiful landscaped walled garden, where in the spring and summer seasons we serve aperitifs & canapes prior to dinner. Or you may just wish to enjoy the seclusion of the garden any time during your stay, either for a light lunch, full afternoon tea or just to sit,read, & unwind. The garden also provided a valuable function for the supply of all types of fruits for both breakfast and dinner.
Open all year round Gary & Jean your hosts are both trained chefs, with many years experience within the hospitallity industry. Let us pammper you and tantalise your palet for a truly memorable dining experience.

Saint-James is located just five minutes off the A84 auto-route, exit junction 32 and follow the signs to the town centre. Petit-Illyria is situated in the town on the main road heading towards the direction of Fougeres. We are just twenty minutes from Mont Saint-Michel, close to Saint Malo and the beautiful Normandy coastline with many picturesque medieval towns and places of interest to explore.
Today Saint-James is a thriving market town with many local ammenities and has the second largest American cemetery in France. It is also the home of the famous Saint-James Knitwear.
There are many country persuits locally such as walking, horse riding, cycling & fishing as well as seaside activities.
