Additional information

Located among the farmlands for which Lancaster County is well known and also near the attractions of Hershey, this farm overlooks peaceful little Chiques Creek named for an Indian tribe that once roamed its banks. Recognized as a PA century farm and raising poultry and field crops, the farm has hosted guests from all 50 states and over 30 foreign countries since 1987 when the bed and breakfast was opened. Russel was born in the 1817 stone farmhouse and enjoys discussing farm experiences as well as current events with guests. He may also challenge a guest to a game of chess. Gladys serves a nutritious breakfast daily by the walk-in fireplace where cooking was done in the early 1800's.

Guests stroll the acreage, walk or bike by quiet country roads, play lawn games or just relax on the rockers or hammock on the large front porch. One may see an Amish carriage cross the bridge on the way to town. On winter nights there are videos, chess, computer games, TV or reading in the two common rooms. Nearby attractions are farmers markets, antiquing, golf, music theater, outlets, museums and the good restaurants for which the area is famous.
