This romantic 200 year old stagecoach inn had been thoroughly renovated and beautifully appointed with fine furnishings and antiques. The 1795 Acorn Inn offers the simple elegance of years gone by seamlessly integrated with modern comfort and luxury.
Inspected and awarded a Four Diamond Rating from AAA for the past seven years, the Acorn Inn is noted for its warm hospitality, luxurious accommodations and great attention to detail.
Rest in seclusion in one of the sound-proofed guestrooms. Each guestroom has been individually decorated. All rooms include luxurious linens and down bedding, sitting areas, televisions with DVD/VCR players, CD/radio, plush robes, central air and heat and thoughtful details too numerous to mention.
The cozy Angell Room features a queen-size poster bed and overlooks the gardens and woods. The Bristol Room, the largest room in the inn and former dance hall, offers a large window seat that overlooks the gardens and a separate shower and soaking tub in the palatial bathroom. On a cool summer night or chilly winter evening, enjoy the fireplace from the queen-size canopy bed. Step out through the French doors onto the private patio of the Hotchkiss Room. Enjoy the wicker seating arrangement with plush pillows. Take respite in the romantic canopy bed or sit in slip-covered chairs and ottomans in front of the warmth of the fireplace. And enjoy a soak in the Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. The Wilder Room, named after Ephraim Wilder, the original owner of the house, features of queen size canopy bed and a bathroom large enough to include a wicker armchair. All rooms enjoy a private, modern bathroom with amenities too numerous to mention.
After a peaceful night's sleep, awake rejuvenated and refreshed to a delicious gourmet breakfast served in our Dining Room. Enjoy your meal of juice, coffee, fresh fruit, spinach strata or French toast creme brulee with breakfast meats by candlelight. Armed Windsor chairs invite you to relax while observing a variety of local birds feed just outside large observation windows.
