Nestled in the beautiful lower Shenandoah Valley, the Thomas Shepherd Inn offers guests the experience of gracious hospitality in combination with an historic setting and an eclectic college town atmosphere.
We offer six spacious, air conditioned and delightfully furnished guest rooms, all with private bath. Our living room with fireplace, two formal dining rooms, library and porch, which overlooks our garden, are also available for your enjoyment.
A complete breakfast, prepared by your innkeepers Jeanne and Jim, is included with your room. Coffee and tea service is available for early risers at 7:00 and breakfast is served from 8:30 to 9:30. Please let us know if you have special dietary requirements.
The Thomas Shepherd Inn has been treating guests to memorable stays for over fifteen years. Built in 1868 as the parsonage for a Lutheran church, this Federal-style architectural treasure is situated on land once owned by Thomas Shepherd.

The Thomas Shepherd Inn is located in downtown Shepherdstown, on the corner of Duke and German Streets. We have off-street parking available behind the inn on Duke Street. A variety of restaurants, shops and historic buildings are all within easy walking distance, as is Shepherd College. Harper’s Ferry, Berkeley Springs, and Antietam Battlefield are within short driving distances.
