SheenView B&B is located on the outskirts of town on the Castletownbere road just over 1.5 miles (a 5 min drive or a pleasant walk down an avenue of broad leaf trees on the banks of Kenmare Bay) to the centre of Kenmare renowned as the south west's Gourmet town. Some of the very best sight seeing and tourist attractions in southern Ireland are also close by ie: Gap of Dunloe, Bonane Heritage Park, Kenmare Bay, Coornagillagh Beach & of course Kenmare town to name but a few, all in all a delightful area to visit

After having holidayed in Southern Ireland & Europe for over 25 years ourselves we have over the years stayed in the 'good, the bad, and the ugly' of B&B's around Ireland (& Europe) hence when we decided to open SheenView (2005) we already knew it had to be a special place for our guests. With this in mind we searched for a property with spectacular scenery & on a large plot to allow for guests entertainment. We think we found this in our choice & then made major alterations to expand and improve the existing house, the result we believe is 'something special' as do our previous guests (according to the guest book) & the ever increasing repeat custom we are achieving bears this out. We have also won an award form the Irish Tourist Board for our services to the travel and tourism in Ireland for 2006, so we feel maybe we have got it right !
Our aim was to provide the intermediary between 'average' B&B & small Hotel by offering the little touches that are not commonly associated with B&B's. We hope you will come and see us and check us out for yourselves.

We offer high standard accommodation with most rooms being ensuite, complete with power showers, WHB, WC, Shaving light and point etc, Bedrooms are equipped with Tea & Coffee facilities, hairdryers, Colour TV, (some with their own DVD player & large selection of DVD available to watch) Clothes Storage & usual power outlets etc. Ironing facilities are available upon request.

There are Double, Twin & Family rooms (Family rooms have 1 double and either 1 or 2 single beds depending on which room you require, both are ensuite) to cater for all needs and preferences

On arrival you will receive a warm welcome from your hosts Peter & Amanda along with refreshments to relieve those traveling blues. These may be taken in our comfortable 1st floor guest lounge which has a panoramic view out over the Kenmare Bay and Macgillicuddy Reeks inc Carrantuohill Irelands highest mountain at 3314 ft, colour TV, DVD Player complete with a large selection of viewing & a wide variety of reading material.

Additional information

We try to cater for the all family therefore board games & toys can be found in the lounge + a variety of children & family viewing films are also available for those who wish to relax in comfort in the lounge (it has been known to rain over here !)

You may also relax in our Garden and have the opportunity to eat at 'home' by using the BBQ should you so wish, crockery & cutlery provided (nominal charge applies), and your children (if they are with you) will be safe and sound probably playing football with our dog Tetley ! More details are available on request.

Breakfast is served between 08-00 and 09-30 Mon to Fri and 08.30 – 10.00 Sat & Sun (these times are flexible by prior arrangement) and will be served in the dining room. It may be possible to exchange breakfast for a packed lunch if you have an early start or are going off walking or cycling along one of the many beautiful trails for the day.
