| Property description: |
Located on the historic Santa Fe Trail in south-western Kansas, our home was built in 1907, and is furnished with pieces in keeping with that period, including a beautiful rosewood grand piano built in 1884. Many fine books that describe the area and the Santa Fe Trail are available in the library. The garden room is a delightful place to enjoy breakfast or to visit with other guests. Two porches welcome guests to enjoy the rocking chairs, old fashioned glider or porch swing, and watch the world go by. A fragrant herb garden is enclosed and offers outdoor seating and the luxury of the hot tub for our guests. Our family of felines comes out to visit with guests, and have their own place to stay in CatNap Inn, the original hen house and garage in the back yard. The gardens are much like the turn of the last century, with mulberry and crabapple trees and native plants blooming throughout the summer. Don't miss the cactus bed! |
