Property description
Originally a watch tower dating back to medieval times, this building has recently been converted into delightful holiday apartments. Set amongst the greenery hills, with wide views over the sea and the surrounding countryside of vineyards and lemon groves, it is a very peaceful and quiet position. The area is delightful, with many small hamlets, churches and other places of historic interest to discover.
The building is situated on the edge of the pretty hamlet of Vettica , just 3,5 kilometres away from Amalfi which can easily be reached in 15 minutes using the public transport system.
A car is not necessary here as public transport is very good.
There is a bus stop with a regular service to Amalfi just 50 metres from the property, which make it easy and cheap to travel around the area. However, if you have a car, you can park , in a private lot close to the stairs to the house, at a cost of Euro 18 per day (reservation required on time of booking).
The house has been carefully restored throughout and offers spacious and stylish accommodation, harmoniously blending the new design within the context of an old house which retains the original , high vaulted ceilings or ancient roofs made of wood beams . The rooms are spacious , have original majolica tiles flooring and are comfortably furnished with a good combination of antique furniture and modern pieces. Bathrooms are modern and newly fitted .
This apartment is connected by an external staircase of 40 stairs to other two accommodations which are on the top level , making the three properties very private, yet also suitable for larger groups, or families wanting to travel together.

The entrance to the house is via a paved yard placed at the entrance of the house, partly garden and partly terrace. The garden and the terrace are shaded by pergolas, and have a splendid view of the sea. The terrace is equipped with a brickwork bench, table, chairs and barbecue.
Entrance from the courtyard is into a hall which leads to a large, open-plan living/sitting room furnished with a dining table with chairs, TV , two sofas and windows with sea views.
On one side of the living room , in a large niche divided from the living room by curtains, there are two single beds ( bunk beds)
On the other side of the living room there is the large cooking area, which is also directly connected to the terrace by a glass door. Kitchen equipments includes a four- burner cooker, refrigerator , coffee maker , TV, blender, microwave oven and toaster. Utility room with washing machine.
Opposite the front door of the apartment , there are 3 bedrooms . Two of them , very spacious, have a double bed and windows with splendid sea views. A bathroom with WC, wash basin , bath tub and a shower, is immediately outside the bedrooms.
The third double bedrooms has windows overlooking the countryside and the sea and an en-suite roomy bathroom with WC, wash basin and shower.

Distances: The centre of Amalfi is 3,5 kilometre away and provides for all essentials ( cafes, very well known restaurants, food shops, banks, post office, etc)
Here there is also the quay to board ferries or rent boats to visit the coast from the sea and reach Positano, Capri, Sorrento, Ischia, Naples and Salerno.
SITA Bus stop to Amalfi town centre is just at the bottom of the steps.

Basic food shop, fruit shop and tobacco shop are at 300 metres along a scenic and ancient pathway with approximately 120 steps.
