As the Pension is situated in the middle of Santorini island, it is ideal for those seeking to sight-see whilst enjoying the tranquility of a Greek island village and experiencing the hospitality of the locals.

There are 25 clean and comfortable rooms and studios, each with a private en-suite bathroom, a fridge, tea / coffee making facilities, a safe box and air-conditioning. All of the rooms have a balcony, with the exception of a few budget-priced rooms and the studios have a kitchenette and a satellite T.V.
The swimming pool is set amidst a garden filled with exotic plants and flowers and breakfast is served upon request either in the pleasant courtyard or in the small indoor breakfast area.

Hotel Pension George is centrally located in the traditional village of Karterados, which is a 15 minute walk, or a few minutes bus ride, to the busy capital town of Fira.
In close proximity to the accomodation, there are several Greek tavernas,restaurants, snack bars, shops, mini-markets, travel offices [ for currency exchange, etc], coffee bars and bars, as well as a laundry, bakery and car or scooter rental offices.
There are regular local buses available to and from town and also to all beaches, villages and archaeological sites.
In Fira town there is a swinging nightlife, lots of shops and restaurants, tavernas and bars and everything that a modern holiday resort offers.
There are several museums in Fira, a winery and a cable car or donkey to transport visitors to the old port, where they can sail across to the volcano and thermal springs.
The busiest black sand beach on the island, Kamari, is a 10 minute bus ride and offers a good selection of water sports as well as good eating and shopping.Kamari has a small bowling and amusement arcade, an indoor and an outdoor cinema and 2 traditional canavas or wineries, where there are wine museums, Greek nights with traditional dancing and wine-tasting. The Ancient Thira archaeological site is found atop the Exo Vouno mountain too, offering fantastic views across Santorini and over to neighbouring islands and a whole Dorian city can be explored.
There is an uncovered Minoan city at the archaeological site of Akrotiri in the south tip of the island, where visitors can also admire and enjoy the Red beach. The small cove is sheltered by amazing red volcanic cliffs and close-by are several traditional tavernas with fresh fish and seafood.
Santorini has an abundance of typical island churches and fantastic views of the glorious sunsets can be enjoyed from the cliff-sides along the famous caldera bay.
