LOCATION
This one bedroom "Casita" is a ground-floor semidetached bungalow within the well established Tradewinds condominium, set on slightly rising ground at the eastern edge of the popular resort village of Sosua, only 15 minutes drive to the international airport of Puerto Plata, or 90 minutes from the new airport of Santiago.
The main street and the first grocery store are about five minutes walk away, and the excellent German bakery and restaurant even a little closer to hand. The main area of bars and restaurants is perhaps 15 minutes walk away, and the beaches about five minutes further.( Motoconchos and taxis are easily available at any time, if the sunshine or cuba libres have taken their toll).
AT HOME
The Tradewinds condominium is built around a beautifully kept central garden area with a profusion of tropical trees and flowers.
The freshwater pool is surrounded by spacious terraces with sunloungers and even a shady gazebo. Other communal facilities include 24 hour security,electricity backup from a private generator, and a laundromat with washers and dryers operated by tokens purchased at the Condo offices.
The apartment itself provides an unusually large main living area with high ceilings. You can relax in the sitting area on a large sofa or in 2 luxurious armchairs, watch cable TV, or listen to music from the small sound system with CD, cassette and radio functions.The sofa can be converted into a bed at night for either one adult or for 2 children.
The kitchen is fully equipped, and has a large fridge-freezer, microwave, gas stove with four rings and a full oven, toaster, and all the necessary cutlery, crockery and pots and pans, should you ever decide to cook at home. The dining table and four matching chairs, mean you can even invite the neighbours round for lunch!
There is even a desk top computer with wireless internet access at your disposal for no extra charge.
The bathroom is fully equipped, and has a particularly spacious shower area. The bedroom is cheerfully furnished with one double bed, bedside table, dresser, and large fitted wardrobes. The private garden terrace leads directly from the bedroom, and the addition of an insect screen makes it a great place for alfresco dining, or just to chill out and read your favourite novel.
Both the main room and bedroom are fitted with ceiling fans and a separate pedestal fan. Bed linen is changed weekly, cleaning and towel service daily. (Please bring your own bath sheets for use at the pool or the beach).

A new beautiful covered front porch enclosed by screens is the best place for breakfast, or to receive friends.
A quiet split a/c unit with remote control has been installed in the bedroom.
Deep and very comfortable new sofa and 2 armchairs are a feature of the living area, with the rattan furniture moved to the porch.

SUGGESTED OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES
* Almost on your doorstep, yet still out of sight and sound, are all the amenities of the lively resort village of Sosua. You have a good selection of banks, grocery stores,souvenir type stores, and bars and restaurants from around the world within a 5 to 15 minute walk of the property. A short taxi ride takes you to either of two local casinos.
* A 20 minute walk takes you to the main beach of Sosua, lined by shady trees and a series of bars and snack-restaurants. Here you can snorkel directly from the beach , or try a selection of watersports, deep-sea fishing, or just soak up the sun and scenery....
* Scuba diving is a major activity, with accredited schools offering everything from ?taster? sessions for nervous beginners, to advanced qualifcation courses for professional instructors. Various beaches between Sosua and Cabarete ( c. 10 miles away ) offer excellent conditions for board surfing, kite sailing, and windsurfing.
* Golfers have the choice between the modest 9-hole course (Costa Azul) in Cabarete, the spectacular links course in Playa Grande (45 mins. drive) or the Robert Trent Jones course in Playa Dorada (30 mins. Drive). Also in Playa Dorada, you can find some more North American style discos, two larger casinos, and a 3-screen cinema showing movies in English.
* Between Sosua and Playa Dorada, you can find the excellent Fun City Go-karting track.
* A few miles beyond Puerto Plata town, and about a 45 minute drive away, is a spectacular new maritime attraction called Ocean World, offering amongst other attractions, a chance to swim with the dolphins.
