Crisdon Castle is set on the highest point of the Haruru Falls ridge, it has sweeping views encompassing the waterfall, Russell, the Bay of Islands, Waitangi golf course and the Pacific ocean. It is an ideal honeymoon hideaway surrounded by private gardens and sundecks..
Our accommodation consists of two self-contained units and three bedrooms all with en-suite or private facilities:
The Royal Suite which occupies the entire east wing of the castle, consists of a lounge/bedroom with a queen and a single bed, panoramic bay views, a powder room and en-suite bathroom with a two person roman bath.
Knights Nook room has a queen bed and en-suite with spa bath.
Kings Retreat room has a super king bed, private bathroom. and spectacular bay views.
The Queens Quarters has its own lounge and kitchen and is available with either one or two bedrooms (one queen, the other twin beds).
All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, tv,DVD,stereo, fridge and their own external entrance.
It is a short walk to the local shops, the waterfall, Twin Pines tavern and restaurant and only 3 minutes drive to Paihia's sandy beaches. Crisdon Castle makes an ideal base for your stay in Northland being within easy driving distance to four golf courses and all the main sites

Paihia is a small seaside town about 240km north of Auckland. It is located on a sheltered inlet in the heart of the Bay of Islands, sheltered from the Pacific Ocean by the Russell peninsula. The region includes the town of Paihia and its suburbs of Te Haumi and Opua to the south and Waitangi, Haruru Falls and Watea to the north. The historic town of Russell is 3km across the bay. The region is in the beautiful sub-tropical Far North of New Zealand. Paihia is the main tourist centre in the Bay, offering a wide variety of accommodation options for visitors. It is the departure point for the world famous sea trips around the Bay of Islands Maritime Park and coach trips to Cape Reinga, the northernmost tip of New Zealand, Ninety-Mile Beach and the ancient Kauri Forests.
