The Guest House at River Estate is an exceptionally private and casually elegant vacation rental on Kauai's spectacular North Shore located within River Estate which is a gated riverfront botanical garden between Hanalei and the northwest end of the road a block upriver from Wainiha Beach. River Estate is a well established vacation property centrally located in the most magical part of Kauai, the North Shore area. You know what they say...Location, Location, Location. In fact it's uniqueness is so special that River Estate was included in the February 2006 issue of National Geographic Magazine's as it's recommendation for where to stay on Kauai on it's map of the Hawaiian islands in which it described specific places and activities for travelers on each island as well as being listed in Fodor's Guide, Lonely Planet Guide and the Los Angeles Times Travel Online Deals and recommendations section. We're very proud of that. Sure there are plenty of Kauai vacation rentals that offer privacy but none offer that privacy in such a centrally located position on the north shore of Kauai so close to the beach. The magical location of River Estate is steeped in spiritual energy and the pristine natural environment produces a feeling of true relaxation and peace to all that visit here. The two most popular types of vacation rentals on Kauai are beach front and tropical jungle types. The Guest House at River Estate offers a tropical paradise experience in which nature combines so elegantly with the spiritual world that you will be left speechless. The Guest House at River Estate offers ultra privacy in a completely pristine natural botanical garden setting thats so close to the beach you can float down the river and back from the property.
The two most important aspects of our property are the spiritual energy that abounds here and the absolute privacy you'll enjoy here. Kauai is a very unique place in the scheme of things spiritually and geographically and River Estate is located in one of the most intensely spiritual areas of the island and state. You will feel so at ease and in harmony with nature that you'll want to stay and enjoy the experience for as long as you can. We're located in one of the last truly unspoiled areas in all of Hawaii in which there has been and will not be any resort development. You'll enjoy complete privacy in one of the most uniquely situated spots on the island yet just outside the property are the beaches and activities North Kauai is noted for. Our tropical botanical gardens provide a truly magnificent setting in which you can totally unwind and relax with exotic flowers, fruit trees and exotic specimens of Hawaiian fauna. As you enter the gates a whole new world will open up in front of you. This is a magical paradise where you can detach from it all and relax in comfort and privacy yet be near all the attractions and activities the north shore of Kauai is noted for. Rates
Our base rate for the Guest House is $250 a night for two people for all dates but Christmas and Thanksgiving which are $275. (Thanksgiving Nov 20 - 30, Christmas Dec. 20 - Jan 10) For each additional guest there is a $25 per person per night charge added to the base rate. Please add 11.416% tax and an out cleaning fee of $125 for 2 and $150 more than 2 people. Deposit is half the total upon booking and there is a $350 security deposit which is refunded after you leave minus any damages.

Minimum Stay
There is a five night minimum for all dates other than Thanksgiving and Christmas dates at which time there is a 7 night minimum. We will accept bookings of less than 5 nights if your dates fit into our caendar. Feel free to ask us if you want less than 5 nights or check our calendar.
Cancellation
Cancellation notice must be received no less than 30 days before check in (60 days before Christmas and Thanksgiving) to receive a full refund minus a processing fee of 10% or $200 whichever amount is greater. For cancellations within 30 days of arrival refund minus transaction fee will be issued at the sole discretion of the owner or if your dates can be rebooked prior to your arrival date. If your dates can't be rebooked we'll credit you for a future stay. Some guests like to purchase travel insurance to prevent any unforeseen problems spoiling their vacation. No refunds for early departure.
Reservation Deposit
A reservation deposit totaling one half the cost of your stay is required to insure the reservation. Deposit must be received within one week of verbal or e-mailed confirmation to hold dates if not paid by credit card. Balance is due 60 days prior to your arrival date.

The diverse settings on the Northshore of Kauai offer many things to do. Some of the most popular things to do are listed below.
Golfing: There are two courses in Princeville: The Makai and Prince Course. The Prince course is rated by some experts as the #1 course in Hawaii. The Makai course is considered one of Americas 100 greatest golf courses.
Helicopter tours: They allow you to see the island from a whole new view. It is breathtaking. Heli USA is in Princeville. You go over Hanalei Valley, Mt Waialeale and the Napali Coast.
Kalalau Trail: It starts at Ke’e. The full hike is 11 miles. It’s an all day hike but you don’t have to go all the way. Hanakapiai is a two mile hike to its beach. There are waterfalls and beaches along the way that can be stopped at to have lunch or take a break at.
Horse Back Ridding: There are two stables: Silver Falls and Princeville Ranch. Each stable offers different ride packages. Call in advance for reservations.
Kayak the Hanalei River: It allows you become part of the river that you cross when coming into Hanalei. It’s very peaceful. Kayaks can be rented or you can get a guided tour.
Napali Coast Tours: They are unforgettable and memorable. You see waterfalls, sea caves and white sand beaches. You’re likely to see dolphins, sea turtles and even humpback whales.
Snorkeling: The northshore of Kauai has some of the best snorkeling. The best beaches for snorkeling are Tunnels, Anini and Ke’e. You’re able to see tons of fish and swim with lots of sea turtles.
Surf lessons: The Hanalei Pier is probably the best place to learn how to surf. Experience the thrill of gliding down a breaking wave. Don't leave the island without having tried this truly Hawaiian sport at least once. Kauai north shore offers ideal surf conditions for beginners of all ages.There two places at the pier for lessons.
Kilauea Lighthouse & Wildlife Refuge: It’s located on the northernmost tip of Kauai. It’s also a bird sanctuary and rated as one of the most visited wildlife refuges in the US.
Limahuli Garden: It’s located in Haena. The garden was named the Nations Natural Botanical Garden of the Year. You learn about the native plants of Hawaii and ones brought by the Polynesians. Reservations are required.
Princeville Spa: Need a day to relax or work out, go to the Princeville spa. There are all different packages and rates you can get.
Guava Kai Plantation: It’s located in Kilauea. You’re able to learn all about guavas and view the orchards. They have a gift shop that sells guava goodies and souvenirs.
