Melrose B&B provides high quality Bed and Breakfast accommodation in Clonakilty. Situated just 10 minutes walk from the charming centre of Clonakilty, Melrose B&B is located in quiet surroundings whilst being very convenient to the town. Melrose has private parking and large gardens with a patio area for visitor’s use. Proprietors Chris and Noel O’Brien will give their personal attention during your stay. Full breakfast menu is offered with locally sourced produce and home baking. The B&B is Board Failte approved, Fuchsia branded, and a member of Town & Country Homes, Family Homes of Ireland & Cork-Kerry Tourism.
Melrose has comfortable & pleasantly decorated en-suite bedrooms, with power showers, television, tea & coffee facilities, hairdryers etc. An information pack and maps is provided for guests. High chair and cot are also available to families on request. We are in a central location for all wedding venues in the Clonakilty area.
Local, fresh produce and home-baking is used in all breakfasts at Melrose. A vegetable and fruit garden is located at the property and makes for an interesting and enjoyable walk around the garden.

Additional information
Clonakilty is known as the beach centre of West Cork. It is also home to magnificent scenery and has numerous attractions for visitors including the West Cork Model Railway Village, Lios-na-gCon Ringfort, stone circles & many other historical sites. There is a choice of plenty beautiful Coves & Beaches including the well-known Inchydoney Beach. The area is a great location for active stays with golf & pitch & putt courses, surfing, swimming, horse-riding, walking, fishing, cinema, and children’s playground all within minutes from Melrose B&B. Clonakilty is the winner of many Tidy Towns and Entente Florale awards and is also noted for its restaurants and local pubs with live music. This is an ideal base for touring Cork and Kerry.
Just about 20 minutes drive South East of Clonakilty are Coolum Cliffs near Butlerstown village. These are the second-highest cliffs in Ireland. Continue your scenic drive through Courtmacsherry and visit the 14th century Franciscan Abbey at Timoleague.
Approx the same distance to the West you will find Drombeg Stone Circle, dating back to 150 BC. Other places of beautiful scenery are Glandore, Rosscarbery, Castlefreake, and Galley Head Lighthouse, among many others.
Clonakilty is also known for live music and great bars and restaurants. De Barra's pub, to name just one is famous for providing visitors with a range of nightly music.
