Historic mansion turned B&B with large private, luxury rooms equipped with whirlpool tubs, fireplaces. Mountain views, some private porches. Full breakfast, candles, robes, snacks, TV, central heating and a/c all included. Free wireless connection in your room. In the small town of Mountain City, a short drive from Blowing Rock/Boone, NC with shopping and sites. Near Abingdon, VA (Barter Theater) and Watauga Lake, Appalachian Trail and Grey Fossil Site. Very convenient to many activities. We are open all year. One first floor room has limited handicap access. Also have a party room for small weddings and reunions, meetings. Additional information
Our inn is ideal as a home base for your mountain vacation. It is also ideal for a honeymoon, romantic getaway, and place to rejuvenate in peace and quiet. Our breakfasts are modern American almost-gourmet type (but nothing weird!). We can accommodate health issues such as diabetics with advance notice. We can accommodate registered service animals but not house pets (our Cottage in the Woods is idea for vacationing with your pet. We also have a pet day care in the next town...)
ROOM DESCRIPTIONS: Each room has one queen or king size bed. A twin bed for 1 can be placed in many rooms (food/linens fee if the 3rd person is 12 or older). Each room has a private, luxury bath with a minimum of a large shower (#3), a large shower plus an antique tube (#5) or a whirlpool tub and shower (all others). All linens and amenities (soap, shampoo, hair dryer, bathrobes) are provided at no cost and for your use during your stay.
