- Markets
Lisbon has a variety of street markets :
1, The Feira de Ladra . This flea market takes place on Tuesdays and Saturdays and is situated behind the church of São Vicente, near Graça.
2. The Feira do Relogio. This takes place on Sunday mornings and is the most colourful and ethnically based. It's situated very close to the airport.
3. The Carcavelos Market. Situated near the train line to Cascais, this market takes place on Thursdays and is excellent for clothing.

- Beaches
A train ride away along the River Tagus to the fashionable resorts of Cascais or Estoril or a bus ride over the river to Caparica.

- Walking
Lisbon is a small intimate city, so it's really great to walk around it looking at the many 18th century buildings and tilework. It's also still one of the safest cities in Western Europe.

- Expo Site
Following the Exhibition year of 1998, certain attractions were retained. The most remarkable is the Oceanarium, which is the largest aquarium in Europe. The Expo site is situated along the banks of the River Tagus, has an excellent shopping centre and a 12 screen cinema complex, which shows films in their original language. The metro / underground to take you to the Expo Site is 2 minutes walk from the flat.

- Sintra
Sintra is situated 30 kms from Lisbon and can be reached by rail. The station is 5 minutes walk from the flat. Sintra has 2 Royal Palaces, is refreshingly green and cool in the summer and is a World Heritage Site.
