Situated in the heart of the historic, medieval town of Cuenca, the POSADA de SAN JOSE is a XVII century building.
Its remarkable position, overlooking the Hu car River gorge, has an unrivalled, dramatic panorama of sunlight, shadows and breathtaking scenery; all is tranquillity and beauty.
The Posada retains its past, monastic haracteristics for it was a choir school which echoed to the voices of boys rehearsing
masses to be sung in the nearby cathedral, itself superbly dominating the Plaza Mayor.
It is little wonder that this fascinating, intriguing
quarter of Cuenca was designated a World Heritage Site in 1996; the POSADA de SAN JOSE so perfectly belongs within it
