Property description
Halfway between Rome and Florence and close to important archeological sites, Villa Arcaia is in an ideal location to reach Italy's main historical and artistic centers.
Immersed in a large park, with a swimming pool for adults and children overlooking a scenic view and equipped with rooms to welcome people with limited mobility, Villa Arcaia is a refined and welcoming quality residence that towers with a breath-taking view above the area's lakes, wooded lands, small hamlets and ploughed lands.
Care for small details as well as glamour 1960's style in this "resort" make for a unique occasion to have a taste of the alluring Tuscan and Umbrian countryside.
The luxurious Bellosguardo apartment is inspired by the "dolce vita" style years. With a hosting capacity of up 12 people, it includes a family room, two suites and a double room.
Very close-by are the three old farmer cottages now turned into additional residence units, equipped with every comfort. Finely restructured in classic Tuscan style, with terracotta clay ceilings and chestnut wood beams, the furnishings in these units are the same used in olden days by local farmers. The Capanno hosts up to two people; the Logge up to 4+2; and the Patio up to 8 people.
With its four and differing types of apartment units, Villa Arcaia is able to meet the most varied types of needs guests may have, up to hosting a maximum of 28 bed spaces.
Initially built in the 19th century, this large farmhouse was revamped in the 1960's by an eccentric actress. Today, thanks to an accurate restoration, the atmospheres of time past are kept intact.
Guests staying at Villa Arcaia can appreciate modern-style objects next to old fittings, large fireplaces, sculpted wood and so on.
The richly fitted sitting room, the dining room area and the super-equipped kitchen overlook a wide and scenic, partially covered, terrace.
To better serve groups wishing to hold parties, meetings ceremonies, Villa Arcaia also has a multiuse space area. Recently added, through its large windows, guests can enjoy the view that expands over the piazzetta and the Italian-style garden.

Additional information
The area between Siena and Perugia can boast a harmonious first place in how man and landscape relate.
The once cradle of Etruscan civilization, the Lake Trasimeno District Area is classed today as a natural park.
All surrounding our Villa, fortresses, castles, convents and country villages serve as background to an incredible variety of landscape, immortalized by Leonardo Da Vinci as well as by some of the most important Renaissance artists.
*Chiusi: At 7 kilometers from Villa Arcaia, amongst glistening olive groves rising over a tuff hill, Chiusi owes its origins to the Etruscan town of Chamars, from which the historical center inherited the large and mighty walls, plenty of archaeological finds now at the local National Archaeological Museum, the Labyrinth of Porsenna (the legendary Etruscan King who resisted Rome's expansion), as well as the numerous Etruscan tombs peppered throughout its countryside.
*Città della Pieve: At 10 kilometers from Villa Arcaia, Città della Pieve is the birth place of Pietro Vannucci renowned in history of art as Perugino, of whom the town proudly holds several masterpieces. From it, view the whole Valdichiana Valley, or stroll through the Medieval town to admire its peculiar wide-spread use of red brick, made precious by brickwork, to which Renaissance architectural patterns were later added.
*Castiglione del Lago: At 12 kilometers from Villa Arcaia is Castiglione del Lago. This fortified town dates back to the 13th century and the Era of Frederick II of Swabia when its castle and walled town were erected over a ridge overlooking the lake. At Castiglione, visitors can take a ferry to the lake's small islets. Smaller and yet little unknown jewels may be found along the local road between Castiglione and Città della Pieve: walled towns and castle of Panicale, Paciano (added amongst Italy's Ideal Hamlets), Magione, Passignano and Tuoro.
*Cetona: At 17 kilometers from Villa Arcaia, huddled around the early 13th century castle and surrounded by the typical city walls is the medieval hamlet of Cetona whose origins however date as far back as Etruscan time. Little known to mass tourism, this quaint and picturesque hamlet is a holiday resort mostly frequented by Rome's upper middle class. A bit further south, on the other side of Mount Cetona, is the yet smaller hamlet of San Casciano Bagni. Medieval in origin, St. Casciano is a highly appreciated thermal well-being resort, thanks to its slightly radioactive hot-springs gushing at 39-43 °C (102-109 °F).
*Val d'Orcia: At less than 40 kilometers from Villa Arcaia is the District comprising Mount Amiata and the Orcia Valley, classed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, whose hamlets amongst vineyards and olive orchards include Bagno Vignoni, Pienza, Montalcino (world renowned for its Brunello wine), Bagni San Filippo and San Quìrico d'Orcia, to name but a few.
*Main cities of artistic interest: Within a 50 kilometers range from Villa Arcaia, guests will easily reach Cortona, Perugia, Assisi, Todi, Orvieto, Montepulciano, Pienza, enchanting places of Etruscan, Medieval and/or Renaissance origins that deserve being visited with the utmost care that only a connoisseur can give. A little farther away (70 km), guests can visit Cities of Art of primary importance such as Arezzo, Gubbio, Spoleto, Viterbo, Siena and San Gimignano. Thanks to easily accessible motorway system, Rome and Florence are only about 120 kilometers away from Villa Arcaia.
