Additional information
You will not need your car once you arrive. You can walk to the beach, and we are just one block to the entrance of the beautiful ocean walk – The Marginal Way. At the end of Marginal Way is the fishing village of Perkins Cove, where you can go take cruises for deep sea fishing, whale watching, light house viewing, and ‘booze cruises’. Also, if you prefer, Ogunquit offers a open-air trolley to get you to your destination.
For non-beach goers, you are about a 5 minute walk to the historical “Ogunquit Playhouse”, which features one of the top ten off-Broadway theaters in the nation. You can always walk to the great shopping, go antiqueing, bar hopping,or go to our local movie cinema, which offers first run movies.
If a little road-trip is in your plans, Kittery, with its great outlet shopping is just 10 miles south of Ogunquit, and historic Porstmouth, NH is just a few miles beyond Kittery. Kennebunk is only about 12 miles north of Ogunquit and Portland is only 40 minutes away. Freeport, with the famous LL Bean, is just north of Portland.
Mount Agamenticus is only 7 miles from Ogunquit, and it offers breathtaking views from the Atlantic Ocean to Mount Washington in New Hampshire. Hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding are available at or near the mountain.
Ogunquit has two art museums, public library, public tennis courts, and playgrounds. Golf, miniature golf, biking, kayaking are just some of the additional activities in the village.
We will be happy to share our thoughts and ideas with you while you make your travel arrangements to Maine.
