Belmount house Eleuthera bahamas this unique vacation property rental is one of the oldest on the island and overlooks the historic settlement of Governor’s Harbour with a view of the ocean and Cupid’s Cay.
This one acre compound is located on the top of Buccaneer Hill a couple of minutes walking from town and five from probably the most beautiful beach in Eleuthera, French Leave Beach (formerly Club Med beach). Shops, Markets, restaurants are all a few minutes away.
The Rental property consists of a two level main house and two guest cottages all of which have been completely restored maintaining the traditional Bahamian architectural style. The grounds are fully and beautifully landscaped. Fruit trees, beauganvillia, jasmine, Bismarck and coconut palms are a few of the plants that grace the well kept garden.
The buildings can generally be described as e New England (Colonial) Style with walls constructed in quarried limestone, cedar shingled roof, oak wood flooring, high ceilings and exposed framing on both the main and loft levels. Both the windows and doors are adorned with working colonial frames and shutters. The porch and terrace provide dramatic views of the harbour offering the perfect compliment to the well – manicured grounds and this beautiful home.
All the units are fully furnished with a perfect blend of Caribbean and European design. Many of the pieces were custom made by an Italian architect and designer with dark and light woods in antique traditions.
