Property description

BEADBOARD COTTAGE:
RECHARGE YOUR BATTERIES. Do you ever feel like you just need to get away and relax? You've found the perfect place.
NOSTALGIC? Looking for the good old days? Well, our little hamlet is a blast from the past. Folks know your name, say "Howdy," rely on each other. It's NOT a village, it's small town Americana.

(Furnished, cottage, in rural Mississippi with living room, eat in kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, in suite seating area and work area in each bedroom. Outside, there is a porch and a verandah, and plenty of parking for additional cars in the driveway. 1-6 guests). MINIMUM RENTAL $500.

You can even COMBINE a stay at our cottage with staying at our B&B French Quarter/New Orleans. The best of both worlds! Who could ask for more?

Coming to the largest free fair in the USA: Washintong Parish Free Fair? It's in FRANKLINTON, LA only 12 miles from cottage.

If you have read any of our web site, you will already know I am hopeless with photo's and inept at making a web site. Nothing glitzy there.

Yep. It's in rural Mississippi (Tylertown) 2 miles from Louisiana, 90 minutes from the French Quarter. Lovingly restored house, built in 1935, with original beadboard wood walls and ceilings throughout.

It's our retirement cottage (hope springs eternal that we WILL retire, someday, but for the moment, it's just our weekly retreat, if we get lucky, the caretaker goes home and we move in).

It's in one of those old fashioned small towns where the next door neighbor keeps a CLOSE eye on your place when you are away. He even lets us go out on his dock, fish in his pond.

Yearn to sit on our porch or verandah and commune with nature, see a rabbit, hear the chirping of birds, crickets & cicadas, croaking frogs? Nightime see a deer, racoon, armadillo? Listen to the hounds howl at the moon, and the bobcat make whatever noise it's called (can you help me with that word?
growl???) I'm running out of creative juices, now.

Hear the rain patter on a tin roof? Hear the cows mooing, and the horses whinny? Want to relive those days at grandma's house, but without grandma?

CENTURY OLD LIVE OAK: Nestled beneath the sheltering branches of a century old oak & huge pecan tree, our 1935 beadboard cottage was lovingly restored to share with folks who want to experience the country life only 90 miles from New Orleans. Ideal place to relax, get back to nature (with all modern comforts), get away from the madding crowd, or take children or grandchildren, so they know what small town living is STILL all about.
