Property description
This is a wonderfully and lovingly restored home which has won awards. The house is beautifully laid out while it is decorated in a variety of interesting styles and has wonderful outside spaces and a pool. This comfortable and spacious house has a large kitchen/dining leading on through an arch to a sitting/sleeping area with a fireplace. This floor also has a bathroom leading on to a bedroom with a double bed.
Up the specially designed open wooden steps and through a trap door you will find yourself on a huge living/dining room with a small bathroom. This area has a wooden balcony at the front and an enclosed courtyard at the back which leads to the shady lower courtyard entrance.
The owner has created a home which is both impressive but on a human scale with a wonderful ambiance.
The kitchen is fully equipped. Other facilities include SAT/Cable TV, Internet on request, a dishwasher and a stereo system.
There is one dedicated bedroom and two areas where there are further double beds. One is on the ground floor near the kitchen area through an arch in the sitting area while the other (large double) is in the huge, open plan area upstairs. The ensuite bathroom is also linked to the living kitcen area and is the way into the bedroom from the living area.

Rates details: A deposit of 20% is required in order to secure a booking which is made via PayPal while the deposit is due no less than one month before your arrival in Greece.
A security deposit of 500 euros which is payable via PayPal is requesed. Payment will be made just before your arrival and the amount returned after your departure when the house has been checked by the owner. The amount will be requested 10 days before your arrival on Hydra.

This marvellous home is located at the top of the town bordering the rural part of Hydra with breathtaking views of the island and out to sea.
Hydra itself is unique as there are no cars or bikes. The local taxi is a donkey or a boat and the pace of life has never passed a steady amble. The town cascades down from the hill tops to the harbour and the buildings are all traditionally built transporting you back to a Greece of old. If you are feeling adventurous the islands of Spetses, Poros, Aegina all within reach for a day's outing. On the mainland you could visit Ermioni or Galatas, the village next to Trizina where Theseus was born. Hydra itself has so many thing waiting to be discovered and explored such as monasteries and nunneries, abandoned mansions, beautiful coastal and inland walks, an abundance of flora as well as cats and donkeys along the way to distract you from thinking about anything of much consequence. Hydra is great is you want to switch off and fill your senses.
