Additional information
Marathia is a tiny hamlet nestled in a pretty valley about 2km from the sea in the Peloponnese, South of Nafplio.
The village consists of a handfull of houses and a church surrounded by cypress trees.
The area is beautifully peaceful and relaxing, and is ideal for those wishing to unwind and get away from it all.
2km away is the village of Vivari on the beach, where there are shops, cafes and tavernas, some with tables right on the water's edge. The beach is good for swimming and there are traditional wooden fishing boats moored in the bay.
Further afield are the popular resorts of Tolo, with its fine sandy beaches, and the elegant coastal town of Nafplio, which was once the capital of Greece.
There are many archaeological sites within easy reach of the house, Mycenae, Epidavros, Tiryns etc.
