Additional information
What is the area like?
This off street apartment is located close to the Hilton Hotel, Gordon Beach, Frishman Beach and the Tel Aviv Marina. A short walk will bring you to all the fun at the beach and to great restaurants, cafes and ice cream shops on the promenade near the marina. This north city location gives you an opportunity to enjoy the Eretz Yisrael Museum and the Sportek complex. If you want to try the new outdoor pool complex it is located just north of the marina near the Hilton Hotel. People watching at its best!
What shall I have for lunch?
On the northern end of the promenade you will find many typical Israeli restaurants and cafes at the marina. Don't forget to try the fresh catches of the day brought by local fisherman to the fish cafes along the promenade at the marina.
You can walk south along the promenade to Tzal HaYam which offers Mediterranean style lunches and dinners. The best American style hamburger is offered on the menu here, too. For a special treat try the Mediterranean salads and fresh breads.
Where can I empty my wallet?
A zig and a zag through this neighborhood will bring you to the Dizengoff Center. Along with its choice of cafes and food you can also try some designers such as Castro for a taste of Israel's fashion. This neighborhood has maintained its charm with wide tree lined streets while being in the center of TeL Aviv. It is well worth the walk.
A must see and the center of Israeli life is the daily bazaar, called Shuk HaCarmel. Its open market stalls will invite you with local breads, pastries, and selections of souvenirs to take back home. You can also stock your fridge here with exotic delicacies from around the world. Wend your way to the back of the shuk towards the beach and you are now in the Yeminite Quarter which has its own selections of great cuisine. Ask for fuul with rice or humuus with meat.
*The Firberg Penthouse is a corporate rental. Invoice can be supplied.
Arts and Entertainment
Both the Reuven Rubin and Chaim Bialik museums are a short walk away on Bialik Street. Enjoy Rubin's collection of oil paintings or gaze on Chaim Bialik's great selection of manuscripts and poetry in his home left exactly as he had left it when he died.
A short cab ride is recommended to the Sportek Complex which has jogging tracks, sports fields and miniature golf. You can also arrange boats on the water at HaYarkon park.
A walk to Old Jaffa along the promenade will take you to another shuk where you can find everything from nargilahs to magic carpets. There is also a large selection of antique stores to browse in Old Jaffa. Ilana Goor has a museum and gallery in the Old Port in Jaffa and for an evening drink try "Yoezer Wine Bar" near the Clock Tower. There are excellent fish and seafood restaurants open in the evenings on Kedem Street.
Let's Get Practical
On almost every corner in this beach neighborhood you are close to ATMs, cash exchange kiosks, cabs are on all streets 24/7 and buses around town are fun and inexpensive. Ask the bus driver to be sure which buses to use to get around.
