Property description
Only 3 years old, Irini’s House is the perfect holiday home for a large family or a group of friends to rent on Spetses Island.
Accommodation
The house was built with more than a passing nod to traditional values and aesthetics, drawing its design from some of the oldest and most illustrious houses of the island. With 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms with showers, it comfortably sleeps 12 (3 double beds, 6 singles) with the possibility for extra beds upon prior arrangement.
Location
Ideally situated in a quiet, residential part of town, at easy walking distance between Spetses Town and Paradise Beach at Ayia Marina (500m to the town, 300m to the beach), it has sea views from both upstairs and downstairs verandas. It is also very close to the two largest supermarkets on the island, a bakery, petrol station and tobacconists.
Decorated in a traditional style with modern touches, Irini’s House has three entrances from the street, a walled garden with a lawn and a delightful covered patio, perfect for eating outside, relaxing and entertaining guests. There is also a wide pathway running along the north side of the property which is ideal for children to play in safely.
Irini’s house can be divided into two separate living areas:
The main house:
Offers a big and bright kitchen/dining/living area with modern facilities which opens onto the garden and patio through French windows. This is adjacent to a small utility room leading out to the back garden area where there is plenty of space for washing to dry, as well as for the children to run around the pretty yard with its lemon and orange trees.
Also on the ground floor is a double bedroom, which has right next-door, its own shower and toilet facilities, as well as French windows leading onto the veranda.
Upstairs has the large master bedroom with en suite shower and WC, and separate dressing area. There are also another two generous-sized bedrooms, one with a double bed, and the other with bunk-beds. These three rooms all lead out onto the main upstairs veranda, with its beautiful sea view, all the way past the light-house of the old harbour, straight to neighbouring Hydra.
On the upper level is also a small single bedroom, ideal for a nanny. This shares a bathroom (with bath and shower) with the two other rooms. Completing the upper level is a small study area where you will find a PC with internet access which covers the whole house (Wi-Fi) and a pretty balcony looking south onto the hillside and monastery. All bedrooms (except the nanny’s room) are air-conditioned and fitted with large wardrobes. The gorgeous exposed beams of the roof compliment the traditional/modern balance perfectly.
Private gym
The lower ground level of the house is a half-basement (there are plenty of good-sized windows for light and air) with its own street entrance as well as a spiral staircase leading up to the main house through a locking door. It is an enormous space, fully equipped as a gym (full-length mirrors along one wall, soft flooring and a multi-gym machine).
There is a small bedroom which can sleep two, and an elegant bathroom with shower and WC. Because of the size of the space, there is also the possibility of adding more beds, which would need to be arranged beforehand.
There is plenty of linen and towels, including beach towels. A twice-weekly maid service is included with the rental fee, with linen-change once per week. More frequent service can be organised for an additional fee.
