If your searching for a self catering caravan holiday combined with a first class award winning Blue Flag beach resort then look no further than Dovercourt.
At the escapetothebeach caravan you find a friendly welcome and a meticulously prepared caravan that includes all the modern comforts and Conveniences you'd expect as well as a few extra pleasant surprises on your arrival.
The accommodation comprises 3 bedrooms, (1 double & 2 singles) sitting room, dining area, kitchen and bathroom with shower. Linen, duvets, pillows and hand tosituated in a lovely quiet part of the site with a large lawned green to the front. If you enjoy fishing there are 2 easily accessible lakes with double figure Carp, and a canal style water brimming with Rudd as well as Carp. They are only a 5 minute walk from the caravan and within the site.
The caravan is based on Dovercourt Caravan park which is an ideal base to explore the unspoilt counties of Suffolk & Norfolk. The park which is situated on ground otherwise known as "The Haven" and close to the old Butlins Site where they filmed He Di Hi,(now a housing estate) has extensive facilities for all the familywels are included. There's a microwave, toaster, kettle, TV, DVD player, radio, iron, vacuum cleaner, clock radio and loads of toys for the kids.
Outside there's a store room with outside play items including picnic table and seat, windbreaks for the beach, enough to keep you occupied.
Local entertainment
There's always stacks to do for the kids, the site has a large heated swimming pool, 2 fantastic child's play area's one of which has a giant tunnel slide.
For adults, there are plenty of bars: you can take the kids to the family bar, which has a superb entertainment program at the weekend; incorporating cabaret, karaoke and wide screen Sky TV.
There's also a children's disco on Saturday nights, pool tables, and a snooker table available all day. A restaurant and fish & chip shop are both nearby, as are a laundrette and general store, which sells everything from newspapers to beach balls.
The caravan
The accommodation itself is three-bedroom, modern, fully-equipped, It sleeps eight people max, and comprises: sitting room, dining area, kitchen, self cater, one double bedroom, two twin bedrooms, a further double bed can be created by converting the dining area. There's also a TV and DVD/CD player.

Dovercourt Bay's award-winning Blue Flag beach is just a few minutes' walk from the park, offering a clean, safe and enjoyable environment for everyone. One of the region's best-kept secrets, it's an easily accessible sandy beach, which is perfect for bucket and spade, a relaxing walk or a family picnic. You can park the car next to the beach and there's a highly recommended cafe, serving hot food and cold drinks.
eVENING ENTERTAINMENT
Alternatively, visit the oldest cinema in the world the Electric Palace, or any of the many pubs and restaurants in Dovercourt and Harwich. The Pier at Harwich serves the ever fish and chips, served at the table.
sporting holiday
Sports people can check out the on site fishing lakes, all of which are free. The lakes are well-stocked with carp, roach and rudd, and are just a five-minute walk. Horse riding and tennis courts are also available nearby, and there's even a boating lake to try out your rowing skills or even watch the miniature motorized boats. Golfers will find plenty of courses nearby or for the first timers you can try the crazy golf!
