Property description
This generously sized detached house of 220 sqm is set in large grounds of 5500 sqm, on the edge of the village of Episkopi and is suitable for 7-10 people. The ground floor has a comfortably furnished open plan living/dining room with two sofa beds, a stone fireplace, TV and CD player, and a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, a full size electric cooker with oven, microwave oven, fridge freezer, toaster and electric kettle. Further on the ground floor there is one bedroom,which is also suitable for handicapped guests + wheelchair driver, with a double bed, shower/wc and a washing machine. An indoor staircase leads to the second floor with three bedrooms, one with a double bed, one with twin beds and one with a single bed, and all of the bedrooms have balconies with beautiful sea views. There is also a small seating area, and a large bathroom with bath/wc. Villa Armi is equipped with central heating, at an extra charge. Further there is a telephone for incoming calls only, and an iron with ironing board.
In the yards you will find parkings and the garden is equipped with furniture + a barbeque.
The next long sandy beach is 1900 metres away. There is a mini market at some 500 metres from the villa, and the nearest taverna can be found at 900 metres. More tavernas and shops can be found in the villages of Georgioupolis and Argiroupolis, at a distance of 5 km, and the town of Rethymno is 13 km away. We do consider that car hire is essential, there is parking space available

The village of Georgioupolis with it’s particularly beautiful setting between sea and mountain, is situated between the towns of Rethymno, a 30 minute journey by car and Chania which is a 45 minute drive away. This charming village with its long stretch of sandy beach and river running into the sea, was until recent times a sleepy little fishing village in an out of the way place. Over the past 20 years it has slowly grown into a very popular little holiday resort, with a wide range of tavernas, shops, cafes, boutiques and other tourist amenities. The beautiful countryside surrounding the village is ideal for those keen on walking, while the splendid sandy shore and relaxed sea side atmosphere make it ideal for beach lovers. There is an excellent bus service in all directions and thus it is possible to go quite far afield, for example to Heraklion (90min journey) or the south coast perhaps to visit Phaistos or Matala. An outing to Frangokastello is also worthwhile. Closer to home there are interesting visits to be made to the old quarters of Chania and Rethymno. Lake Kournas, famed as the only fresh water lake on Crete and haven for wild life, is within walking distance from Georgioupolis. Some distance outside the village, a long row of hotels sits alongside the sweeping almost 10 km long pale fine sandy beach and crystal clear waters. However, a part of timeless old Georgioupolis remains very much in place. As in years gone by, the eucalyptus tree lined square remains the perfect place to sit and watch the villagers meet each other in the kafenions to exchange the news of the day over a coffee or ouzo
