Cattail Cabins offers all that and a great vacation base camp for visiting Asheville, Burnsville, Spruce Pine and all the stops along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Cattail Cabins are part of the Cattail Creek Community which is located 10 miles south of Burnsville and about 25 miles north of Asheville.
Cattail Creek started out in 1925 as a dream Percy and Ethel Threadgill. Their dream was to build ultimate in a mountain vacation “as far back in the woods as one could get”. The nine peaks over 6,000 feet around the community are the loftiest mountains east of the Mississippi River.
Today, Cattail Cabins are managed by Percy and Ethel's granddaughter Karen Fitzgerald who invites you to enjoy the ultimate mountain vacation.
