Property description

This three bedroom, two-bath, new cabin in the Paradise Valley is located on the bank of the Yellowstone River and is a short thirty-minute drive from Yellowstone National Park.

You'll feel like the river runs right through the home. You will enjoy this unique opportunity to spend time along the last major wild river in America! Stunning views of the Absaroka and Gallatin mountain ranges are yours to enjoy along with the bald eagles often seen in the cottonwood grove across the river. Guests can walk out the door and go fishing or floating right from the house at the private Yellowstone River access.

This sweet cabin is offered year round for your river and mountain getaway retreat or family vacation and offers you all the comforts and conveniences you will want in a most gorgeous Yellowstone River setting in a small neighborhood of homes in the Paradise Valley. The home has a tasteful, cozy western style with beautiful wood and tile floors, unique artwork and custom handmade log furniture to enjoy.

The three cozy bedrooms all with outstanding mountain views can accommodate up to six guests. The master bedroom is downstairs, with a queen size log bed, and a full bath with shower. The spiral staircase leads you to two more bedrooms upstairs. The upper floor consists of one bedroom with a queen size log bed, and another bedroom with a log frame bunk bed. A full bath upstairs is shared by these two bedrooms. If you happen to need one, you'll even find a playpen/crib in one of the bedrooms.

The complete kitchen, with dishwasher, range, microwave and all the cookware is open to the dining area and living room. The dining room table will seat six, or head on out to the deck and joy your meal while savoring the river view.

Relaxing will come easy on the Yellowstone Riverside deck. There you can hear the mighty river sweeping by, notice the sudden flip of a trout's tail, watch a bald eagle perched in the Cottonwood trees across the river and see drift boats, kayaks, canoes and rafts float by. You'll find a comfortable patio set and gas BBQ grill along with a bench and hooks to hang your fishing waders. On the other side of the house, you'll find a covered deck with a small table and chairs to enjoy your morning coffee while enjoying an unobstructed view of the gorgeous Absaroka Mountains.

In the vaulted living room, you'll find cozy and comfortable furniture, a television with satellite service, and a gas fired woodstove -- everything you could need! Large windows offer spectacular views of the Yellowstone River, waterfowl, bald eagles and the surrounding mountains.

In your free time, you'll find a large selection of videos to enjoy, a cd/tape player sound system, as well as a variety of games and books. Or, take the short walk to the Yellowstone River down your own private path to enjoy the view of your private River frontage from a secluded bench right on the River's edge.

No smoking is allowed in the home. No pets are allowed on the property or in the home without prior written approval from Mountain Home (the vacation home company which handles rentals for Yellowstone Lookout). There is a private phone, television with satellite service and VCR, and laundry facilities including washer/dryer, iron, ironing board and detergent at this home. You'll also find a fully equipped kitchen, high quality kitchen, bath and bed linens, and staples like paper goods, dish and hand soaps.

In addition to the wildlife, there are numerous bird species in Paradise Valley and the Yellowstone River ecosystem including bald and American eagles, owls, hawks, falcons, wading birds, hummingbirds, and many songbirds, including the melodious western meadowlark.

As the seasons change so do the activities and experiences available to Yellowstone Lookout guests. In the Spring as plants are budding, migratory birds return, newly born animals appear, the first tiny wildflowers bloom, and the fish start biting. As Summer unfolds, you’ll watch many boats drift by on the River and, in fact, you might want to fish and float the wild Yellowstone River yourself. The nearby meadow and fields turn to green, the birds and animals are minding their young, rodeo season is under way, and horseback riding, hiking and mountain biking are always fun. With Fall approaching and the days getting shorter, the fall colors on the many cottonwoods and aspens are stunning, the nights are cooler and the warmth of the gas fired wood stove are welcomed. When winter sets in and snow falls on the nearby mountains, the Yellowstone River is fabulous to watch as ice chunks float by. Skiers can head for the slopes or the backcountry, snowmobilers make their way to the hills and the warmth of Yellowstone Lookout is there at the end of a fun filled winter day.

Yellowstone Lookout guests who like to fly fish will enjoy their own private fishing access on the world class Yellowstone River. The fishing doesn't get any better than here! Professional guide service and fishing information is available by checking out the links on this site.
